Limitations
- PDF downloads use the standard PDF fonts, so the rupee sign prints as "Rs." and scripts such as Devanagari do not print; use Print to save a PDF with them.
- Tax rates are defaults you can change. Check the rate that applies to your goods or services.
Questions about Invoice Generator
How is tax rounded?
Tax is worked out on each line and rounded half away from zero to the smallest currency unit. Indian CGST and SGST are each rounded separately.
Where is my data kept?
In this browser only. Business details, saved customers and the tracker live in local storage; download a backup file to move them to another device.
Is this invoice generator free?
Your first invoice each day is free, with no sign-up and no watermark. After that each new invoice costs 2 credits, and downloading the same invoice as PDF, Word and Excel counts once. Everything, including the PDF, Word and Excel files, is produced by your browser rather than on a server.
How does it decide between CGST, SGST and IGST?
It compares your state with the place of supply. When they are the same the rate is split equally into CGST and SGST, or UTGST for union territories without a legislature; when they differ, the full rate is charged as IGST.
Which GST rates are offered for India?
Quick buttons for 0, 5, 18 and 40 percent, which is the structure recommended by the GST Council in September 2025. You can type any other rate, such as 3 percent for gold, in the rate box.
Why does the rupee sign print as Rs. in the PDF?
The PDF uses the standard fonts every reader has, and those fonts have no rupee sign or Indian scripts. Choose Print and then Save as PDF in your browser if you need the symbol or a Hindi or Tamil name on the page.
Can I enter prices that already include tax?
Yes. Switch "Prices entered" to including tax and the invoice shows the tax contained in each price instead of adding it on top, which is how Australian and New Zealand retail prices are usually shown.
Where are my invoices stored?
In this browser only, in local storage. Clearing site data removes them, so download a backup from the tracker to keep a copy or move to another computer.
Can I turn an estimate or quote into an invoice?
Yes. Open the estimate, quote or proforma and choose Make invoice, or use the Invoice button beside it in the tracker. The invoice gets the next invoice number and today's date, keeps every line and notes which document it came from, and the original stays in the tracker marked with the invoice number.
Can I set up recurring invoices?
Repeat invoice makes the same invoice for the next week, fortnight, month, quarter or year, with the next number, the dates moved on and nothing marked as paid. Nothing is sent automatically: you check and send each one yourself.
Can I import hours from Toggl, Clockify or Harvest?
Yes. Export a detailed report as CSV or Excel and choose Import hours from a timesheet under the line items. Each entry becomes a dated line with its hours, entries marked non-billable are left out, and entries that share a task can be combined into one line. The file is read in your browser.
