Refund policy

Last updated . This policy covers Toolspike and the tools published on it.

What this covers

Every tool has one free trial a day. These terms apply to the prepaid credit packs that pay for runs beyond that, which are sold through Paddle.

Merchant of Record

Purchases on this site are sold and processed by Paddle.com, which acts as our Merchant of Record. Your contract for the purchase is with Paddle, it is Paddle that appears on your statement and invoice, and Paddle collects any sales tax or VAT due where you live.

Because of that, your card details are entered on Paddle and never reach us. Refunds are administered through Paddle, and we authorise them under the terms set out below.

If you see a charge you do not recognise, check the statement for the merchant name before treating it as fraud.

What can be bought

The only thing for sale is a credit pack: a one-time purchase of credits that pay for runs beyond each tool’s free trial of the day, at 2 credits a run on any tool. Credits are valid for 30 days from purchase, and buying again extends the expiry on the whole remaining balance.

Nothing recurs. There is no subscription, so there is nothing to cancel and no renewal to forget about.

The free trial of each tool every day, the free credits an account receives each day and the one-time sign-up bonus cost nothing, so there is nothing to refund on them. The EMI and simple interest calculators are always free.

Refund terms

A credit pack is refundable as follows.

  • Unused credits: a full refund of any wholly unused pack requested within 14 days of purchase, without needing to give a reason.
  • Partly used packs: a proportionate refund of the credits not yet spent, within the same 14-day window.
  • Failed work: credits consumed by a request that failed because of a fault on our side, or on the provider we call, are returned to your balance. This is automatic; if it does not happen, it is corrected on request.
  • Duplicate or mistaken purchases: refunded in full once identified, whenever they are reported.
  • Credits already spent on work that completed: not refundable, because the work was done and the output was delivered. Output you consider poor is covered by the point below.
  • Expired credits: not refundable once the 30-day validity has passed.

Output quality and refunds

Recognition and translation are estimates. No accuracy figure is claimed for any language, script or pair anywhere on this site, precisely because none has been measured. A result that is delivered but wrong is therefore within the stated behaviour of the tool, not a defect, and would not on its own trigger a refund.

That is a limitation to weigh before buying rather than a reason to buy and then complain, which is why the tools state what they cannot do on the page itself and why a free trial should be tried first wherever the site allows it.

A request that returns an error, times out, or produces nothing at all is a different matter, and is covered by the failed-work point above.

Your statutory rights

Nothing here is intended to reduce rights you have under consumer law, which vary by country and take precedence over anything written on this page.

In the United Kingdom and the European Union, consumers generally have a 14-day right to cancel a distance contract for digital services. Where you ask for a service to begin immediately within that period, that right may be lost or reduced once the service has been supplied; this is explained and acknowledged at Paddle’s checkout rather than assumed.

How to request a refund

Email [email protected] quoting the order or transaction reference from your Paddle receipt, and the email address used for the purchase.

Refunds are issued by Paddle to the original payment method. How quickly the money appears is set by your bank or card issuer rather than by us.

Please contact us before raising a chargeback with your bank. A chargeback costs us a fee and may suspend the account, and almost every case is resolved faster by email.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the date at the top of the page changes with it.

A change will not be applied retrospectively to a purchase already made: the terms shown at the time of a purchase are the terms for that purchase.
