Get data into and out of spreadsheets without retyping it
Spreadsheets are where data goes to be read by people, and where it arrives from systems that cannot talk to each other. These tools cover both directions: structured data into a workbook, workbook contents back into JSON, and tables lifted out of pictures.
The format converters run entirely in your browser and handle files up to 25 MB and 200,000 rows. Image to Excel is different — it sends the picture to an external provider to read the table, and the page says so before you submit.
Which Spreadsheet tool do you need?
A workbook you need as data
Excel to JSON reads .xlsx, .xls, .ods and CSV with a worksheet picker, converting dates to ISO strings.
Data you need as a workbook
JSON to Excel writes a genuine .xlsx that opens natively, with no import dialogue or delimiter warning.
Plain text exports
CSV to JSON and JSON to CSV handle the text formats, with proper quoting and control over delimiters.
A table that only exists as a picture
Image to Excel reads a table from a photograph, screenshot or PDF into an editable grid you correct before exporting.
A workbook that will not parse elsewhere
JSON Formatter validates and pretty-prints the JSON these converters produce, so a syntax error is located quickly.
Questions about Spreadsheet tools
Do I get a real Excel file or a CSV renamed?
A real one. JSON to Excel and Image to Excel both produce genuine Office Open XML workbooks that Excel, LibreOffice and Numbers open directly without an import step.
Why are my leading zeros preserved as text?
Because losing them corrupts identifiers. Type inference is off by default in CSV to JSON, and Image to Excel keeps every cell as text, so a product code of 00123 stays 00123.
Are formulas carried across?
No. Reading a workbook gives you the values cached at the last save, and writing one produces values rather than calculations. A spreadsheet that depends on recalculation will not be reproduced.
How many rows can these handle?
The data converters accept files up to 25 MB and 200,000 rows. Image to Excel is bounded by how much table fits in a readable picture rather than by a row count.
How do I get a printed table into a spreadsheet?
Photograph it square on and use Image to Excel. The table comes back as an editable grid you correct against the source before exporting, since recognition can misread a cell.
