Disclaimer
Last updated . This disclaimer covers Toolspike and the tools published on it.
Provided as-is
The tools on this site are published without any warranty, express or implied, to the fullest extent the law allows. Nothing here is promised to be correct, complete, available or fit for a particular purpose.
They are useful utilities written carefully, not certified instruments. Every output is a draft to be checked by a person who understands the material, and the decision to rely on one is yours.
No accuracy figure is quoted anywhere on this site for recognition or translation, in any language, script or pair. That is deliberate: no such measurement has been carried out, so publishing a number would be inventing one.
Check the output before you rely on it
Keep your original file. Compare the result against it. This applies to every tool on the site, including the ones that run entirely in your browser: a conversion can change how a document paginates, how a spreadsheet types a column, or how an image is compressed.
The specific limitations of each tool are listed on that tool’s own page, and they are stated plainly rather than buried. Read them before using a tool for anything that matters.
Recognition and translation
Handwriting, equation, table and screenshot recognition produce an estimate of what the input contained. Handwriting is ambiguous even to human readers, so misread characters, dropped diacritics, transposed digits and lost layout are all expected outcomes rather than faults.
Machine translation produces an estimate of meaning. It can invert a negation, mistake a proper noun for a common one, lose register, or read an idiom literally. Do not use it for anything legal, medical, financial or safety-critical without a qualified human translator.
These tools transmit your input to an external provider, which is disclosed on each workbench before you submit. Do not send material you are not permitted to share with a third party.
Generated code and markup
Code and markup produced from an image is a starting point, not a deliverable. It may not compile, may not match the design, may use APIs that do not exist, and may contain patterns that are insecure or inaccessible.
Read every line before running it. Never paste generated code into a production system, a build pipeline or a privileged environment without review, and never assume that output which looks plausible has been tested.
Finance calculators are not financial advice
The interest and repayment calculators apply standard published formulas to the numbers you type. They are generic arithmetic tools: they know nothing about you, your lender, your jurisdiction or the terms of any actual agreement.
They exclude fees, charges, insurance, taxes, early repayment terms, rate changes and anything else a real contract contains, so a figure produced here will usually differ from a real quotation.
Nothing on this site is financial, investment, tax or legal advice, and nothing here is a regulated recommendation or an offer of credit. Speak to a qualified adviser and rely on your lender’s own figures before making a decision.
Nutrition figures are not medical advice
Recipe nutrition is estimated by matching your ingredients against entries in a food composition database and scaling them. Matching is imperfect, and real ingredients vary by variety, ripeness, cut, brand, preparation and cooking loss.
Figures should be read as approximations with meaningful uncertainty, not as a label. Allergen information in particular must never be inferred from an estimate: check the actual packaging.
Nothing here is medical, dietary or clinical advice. Do not use it to manage a medical condition, an allergy, an intolerance or a prescribed diet. Consult a doctor or a registered dietitian instead.
Availability and change
Tools may be added, altered, renamed or withdrawn, and the site may be unavailable. No level of availability is promised, and anything described as planned is a statement of intent that may be changed or abandoned.
Some tools depend on an external provider and cannot run unless a credential is configured for this deployment. Where that is the case they fail closed, returning an error rather than a fabricated result. The current state of every tool is listed on the coverage page.
External links and third parties
Links to other sites are provided for reference. We do not control them, do not endorse their content, and are not responsible for what they do with your information once you follow one.
The provider-backed tools call third-party services. Their behaviour, availability and terms are theirs, not ours, and their processing of what you send is governed by their own policies.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we accept no liability for loss or damage arising from use of this site or reliance on its output, including lost or corrupted data, lost profits, lost savings, or any indirect or consequential loss.
Nothing in this disclaimer excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded.
