Invoice tracker

Keeping track of who has paid is as important as sending invoices. This page opens the tracker, which lists every document you download or save on this device, shows outstanding and overdue totals, and exports to Excel with days overdue and ageing buckets as formulas.

No sign-up, no watermark. Made in your browser; nothing is uploaded.

Free trial: 1 run of Invoice Generator every day. After that, 2 credits per run.

What this template includes

  • Your business name, address and contact details
  • Customer name and address
  • Document number and issue date
  • Line items with qty, price and amount
  • Tax, discounts, amount paid and balance due

Marking invoices sent and paid

Change the status of each document as it moves from draft to sent to paid. Marking it paid records the date, and the outstanding and overdue totals update immediately. Partly paid invoices keep their remaining balance in the outstanding total, and void documents are left out of every total.

Ageing in the Excel export

The Excel file calculates days overdue from the due date and today, and sorts each unpaid invoice into current, 1-30, 31-60, 61-90 or over 90 days, the buckets accountants use for receivables.

Questions

Where is the tracker stored?

In local storage in this browser, holding the latest 200 documents. Download a backup file from the tracker to keep a copy or to restore it on another device.

Can I track invoices made elsewhere?

Recreate them here with the same number and amount, then set the status. The tracker is built for documents made with this tool.

Does it handle more than one currency?

Yes. Totals are shown separately for each currency, because adding dollars to rupees would give a meaningless number.
