Teacher resume format
Schools read a teacher’s resume for three things: what you teach and to which classes, the qualifications that make you eligible, and the results your students achieved. This page opens a full example for a PGT Mathematics teacher at a CBSE school in Benchmark on A4, with the B.Ed and CTET where a principal expects them. The person and the schools are made up.

PRT, TGT and PGT: say exactly what you teach
Indian schools hire to designations. A PRT teaches the primary classes, a TGT usually teaches Classes 6 to 10, and a PGT teaches Classes 11 and 12 in one subject and normally needs a master's degree in it as well as a B.Ed. Put the designation and subject in the job title, for example 'PGT Mathematics', and the classes in your first bullet, so a principal can match you to the vacancy at a glance.
Eligibility tests and certificates
List CTET or your state TET with the paper you passed: Paper I covers Classes 1 to 5 and Paper II covers Classes 6 to 8. Since 2021 a TET qualifying certificate is valid for life, so there is no expiry date to add. Give your B.Ed or D.El.Ed with the year, and any special educator, sports or NCC qualification the school's posting mentions.
Results and professional development
A line such as 'Raised the Class 12 board average in Mathematics from 71% to 82% over three batches' does more than any list of duties. CBSE expects its teachers to take part in professional development every year, so a short line on recent workshops, with hours if you know them, shows you keep up. Keep personal details such as date of birth for the application form unless the school asks for them on the resume.

Questions
Is a teacher resume different from a teacher CV in India?
No. Schools use both words for the same document. What matters is that it shows your designation, subject, board, eligibility and results clearly, on one or two pages.
Should a teacher resume include a photo?
Many Indian schools still ask for one, so read the posting. If it asks, use a recent passport-style photo; if it does not, leave it out and let your results and qualifications do the work.
How long should a teacher resume be?
One well-filled page is usually enough for the first several years of teaching; move to two when your results, duties and training no longer fit. The example fills one A4 page with three teaching jobs, so add a second page only when you have more to show.
What should a fresher teacher with a B.Ed put first?
Lead with your B.Ed and subject degree, your TET or CTET result and your school internship. Describe the classes you taught during practice teaching, the lesson plans you prepared and the feedback from your supervisor, with numbers where you have them.
