NEET and JEE certificate PDF size (50 to 300 KB)

The NTA bulletins for NEET (UG) 2026 and JEE (Main) 2026 ask for certificates and proofs as PDFs between 50 and 300 KB. A file can fail for being too small as well as too large, so both ends are checked together.

No sign-up. Runs in your browser; nothing is uploaded.

Free trial: 1 run of Compress PDF to KB every day. After that, 2 credits per run.

Which files use this range

Category, disability and similar certificates in NEET (UG) 2026, and the Class 10 certificate in JEE (Main) 2026. Photos, signatures and finger impressions are JPG files with their own ranges; use Resize Image to KB for those.

When a certificate comes out under 50 KB

A single clean page can compress below 50 KB. The tool then redraws it at a higher resolution or quality until it passes the minimum, and says so if even 300 dpi cannot reach it.

Questions

Why does NTA need at least 50 KB?

The bulletins set a lower limit so that uploads are readable scans rather than tiny thumbnails. The tool treats the minimum as seriously as the maximum.

Can I upload a photo of my certificate as the PDF?

Yes. Add the photo, keep A4 as the page size, and the tool turns it into a PDF inside the range. Photograph it flat, in daylight, without shadows.

Is the range the same every year?

It has been this range in the 2026 bulletins. Check the current bulletin before applying, since NTA can change rules each cycle.
