Runs in your browser — nothing is uploadedFree trial: 1 run of Split PDF every day. After that, 2 credits per run.
Take one PDF apart, by range, by chunk, or page by page
Divide a document three ways: extract a chosen range, break the file into fixed-size chunks, or produce one file per page. Everything runs in your browser on a source of up to 150 MB and 3,000 pages. Where a split produces several files you can take them individually or as one ZIP archive.
What Split PDF gives you
Extract a specific range
Type something like 1-3, 7, 11-14 to pull exactly those pages into one new PDF.
Split into equal chunks
Choose pages per file and the document divides into consecutive blocks. The last file holds the remainder.
One file per page
Burst the whole document into single-page PDFs, delivered together as a ZIP.
Ranges checked before anything runs
A range that starts after it ends, or runs past the last page, is reported with the exact token that caused it.
Originals never modified
The file you selected is only ever read; extracted pages are written into new documents.

Questions about Split PDF
What range syntax is supported?
Comma-separated pages and hyphenated ranges such as 1-3, 7, 11-14. Pages are one-indexed and duplicates are ignored.
Can I get one file per page?
Yes. Choose the one-file-per-page mode and download the results as a ZIP.
How do I extract specific pages from a PDF?
Choose the extract mode and type the pages using commas and hyphens, such as 1-3, 7, 11-14. Those pages are copied into one new document; everything else is left behind and your original is untouched.
Which page number do I count from?
The order the file is in on screen, counting from one. Page one is the first sheet even if it is an unnumbered cover, so ignore any printed number in a footer — it often disagrees with the real position.
Can I use a split to reorder pages?
No. Page lists are de-duplicated and sorted, so the output always follows document order. To change the sequence, split the parts out and then merge them back in the order you want.
What is the fastest way to split a very long document?
Use chunk mode rather than one file per page. One archive of fifty-page files is far quicker to handle and download than several hundred single-page documents.
Should I split or delete instead?
It depends which list is shorter. To keep a handful of pages out of hundreds, extracting them is much less typing. To drop a few pages and keep the rest as one document, use Remove PDF Pages.
Who typically needs to split a PDF?
Office workers pulling the one section a colleague asked for out of a long report; teachers separating a worksheet pack into individual handouts; and anyone who scanned a stack of records in one pass and needs it back as one file per document.
