Internship certificate format

An internship certificate confirms that a student completed an internship with you: when, in which team, on what project and under whose guidance. Colleges often need it for credits, and students show it when they apply for jobs.

No sign-up. Made in your browser; nothing is uploaded.

Free trial: 1 run of HR Letter Generator every day. After that, 2 credits per run.

What the certificate states

  • Intern’s name, institute and enrolment number
  • Team or department
  • Start and end dates, with the duration worked out
  • Project and mentor
  • Work done, if you list it
  • A remark you choose, or none
  • Reference number and an authorised signature

For a batch of interns

Summer programmes end on the same day for many interns. Download the internship certificate template, add a row per intern and download all the certificates as a ZIP.

Certificate or recommendation?

The certificate states facts. If you want to recommend an intern for a particular job or course, write a separate letter in your own words.

Questions

Does the certificate need a company stamp?

Some colleges ask for one. You can add a stamp or signature image in the letterhead section, or stamp the printed copy by hand.

Can it show the stipend?

It does not print pay. If a college asks for the stipend, add a line in the Word file before sending, or issue a separate letter.

How is the duration counted?

From the start date to the end date, counting both days, written in months and days, so 1 May to 31 July is three months.

Who should issue it?

The organisation that hosted the internship, signed by someone authorised to confirm it, such as the mentor’s manager or the HR team.
