Handwriting to Text
Recognise handwriting from images and PDFs in a chosen language and script, returning editable text you can review, correct, copy and download.
Uploads your file to be processed onlineFree trial: 1 run of Handwriting to Text every day. After that, 2 credits per run. Each page or image counts as one run.
Turn handwritten pages into text you can edit and search
Photograph or scan handwritten notes and get editable text back, with support for well over a hundred languages and every major writing system. Recognition runs on an external provider, so the image is transmitted — that is stated before you submit. PDFs are rendered to page images on your device first, so the original file itself is not sent.
What Handwriting to Text gives you
Many languages and scripts
Latin, Cyrillic, Devanagari, Arabic, Bengali and many more, each with its own guidance for the reader.
Images and PDFs
Add a photograph or a multipage PDF; pages are rendered locally before recognition.
Dedicated language pages
Each supported language has its own page describing the letters and marks that matter for that script.
Editable output
The transcription lands in a text box you can correct before copying or downloading it.
Says when output was cut short
If a very dense page exceeds the provider's output ceiling, you are told rather than handed a silent truncation.

Questions about Handwriting to Text
Is my document uploaded?
Yes. Handwriting recognition runs on a third-party provider, so pages are transmitted. This is disclosed before submission and needs an explicit action.
How good is recognition in my language?
Quality has not been independently measured for the supported languages. Treat every result as a draft and check it against the source.
How do I convert handwritten notes into digital text?
Photograph or scan the page, choose the language, and transcribe. The text comes back in an editable box so you can correct anything misread before copying it into your notes or a document.
How do I get the most accurate transcription?
Photograph straight on in even, bright light, and crop to the written area. Shadow across the page and a skewed angle cost more accuracy than untidy handwriting does, and desk or hands in frame give the reader irrelevant material.
Does it matter which language I select?
A great deal. A Devanagari page read as Latin produces nonsense rather than a near miss, because the reader is looking for the wrong shapes entirely. Set it before running rather than after a poor result.
Is my handwriting uploaded somewhere?
Yes. Recognition needs a large vision model that cannot run in a browser, so the page image is sent to an external provider. That is stated before you submit, and the image and the text are never logged by us.
Can it read a multipage PDF?
Yes. Pages are rendered to images on your device first, so the PDF file itself is not transmitted — only the rendered pages go to the provider for reading.
Why was my result cut short on a dense page?
A very dense page can exceed the provider's output ceiling. You are told when that happens rather than handed a silent truncation, and splitting the page into two images usually reads better than one crowded photograph.
