AI Math to Word
Paste a ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude or DeepSeek answer and download a Word document in which each valid formula is an editable equation. Free, in your browser.
Runs in your browser — nothing is uploadedTurn a ChatGPT answer into a Word document with real equations
Paste an answer from ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Copilot, DeepSeek or Perplexity and download a Word file in which each valid formula is an equation Word can edit. Headings, bold text, numbered and bulleted lists, tables and code blocks come across too, so the answer reads in Word the way it read in the chat.
Both ways of copying work. The copy button under an answer gives Markdown with LaTeX between \( \) or $ signs; selecting the answer and pressing Ctrl+C (⌘C on a Mac) gives rendered maths, and the tool reads the LaTeX kept behind each formula. Everything happens in your browser, so the answer is not uploaded.
What AI Math to Word gives you
Native Word equations
Each formula becomes Office Math, the format Insert > Equation uses. Brackets grow around fractions, sums and integrals keep their limits, and sin, log and lim stay upright.
Reads both copy methods
Markdown from a copy button, or rich text from a selection: KaTeX, MathJax and MathML formulas are all turned back into LaTeX before the document is built.
Preview before you download
A typeset preview uses the same converter as the Word file, so a formula that will not convert shows in red before you download anything.
Structure kept
Headings use Word's heading styles, lists use real Word numbering, and tables keep their columns and alignment, with maths inside the cells.
Page and font choices
Pick A4 or Letter paper, the body font and the text size; equations always use Cambria Math, the font Word itself uses for maths.
How to use AI Math to Word
Copy the answer
Use the copy button under the answer, or select it and press Ctrl+C (⌘C on a Mac).
Paste and check
Paste into the box, or press Paste, and look over the preview.
Download
Choose the paper and font, then download the .docx, or the Markdown if you need it.

Looking for the opposite job? Word to Markdown.
Limitations
- Covers the mathematical part of LaTeX that AI answers use; an expression that is not valid LaTeX goes into the document as red text for you to fix.
- Up to 500,000 characters at a time. Images linked from other websites are not downloaded into the document.
Questions about AI Math to Word
Do the equations stay editable in Word?
Yes. Each formula is written as a native Word equation (Office Math), the same kind Insert > Equation makes, so you can click into it and change it. Nothing is pasted in as a picture.
Is the answer I paste sent anywhere?
No. Reading the Markdown, converting the maths and building the Word file all happen in your browser, so the answer you paste is not uploaded to a server.
Why do ChatGPT formulas turn into strange symbols when pasted into Word?
Word receives the page's rendered text, not the formula. Each equation is drawn from many small pieces, so it arrives as loose letters, doubled characters or raw LaTeX. This tool reads the LaTeX source behind each formula and rebuilds it as a native Word equation instead.
Does it work with Claude, Gemini, Copilot and DeepSeek?
Yes. They all write maths as LaTeX, either between dollar signs or between \( and \). Copying with the copy button or by selecting the answer both work, and the tool recognises KaTeX, MathJax and plain MathML formulas.
Can I edit the equations after downloading?
Yes. They are ordinary Word equations, so you can click into one, change a number or a symbol, and Word typesets it again. Word 365 can also show each one as LaTeX through the Linear format setting on the Equation tab.
What happens if a formula has an error?
A formula that is not valid LaTeX shows in red in the preview, with the reason. If you download anyway, it goes into the document as red LaTeX text, and the list under the preview names each one, so nothing is dropped without notice.
Are aligned equations, matrices and cases supported?
Yes. aligned and align become a Word equation array lined up at the equals signs, pmatrix and bmatrix become matrices inside growing brackets, and cases becomes a brace with left-aligned rows. Binomials, accents, overbraces, roots and limits become their Word equivalents too.
Can I also get the Markdown or the LaTeX?
Yes. The Markdown button saves the text as a .md file with the maths kept as LaTeX, which suits Obsidian, Notion, GitHub or a LaTeX document. The text box always holds the editable source, so you can copy any formula from it.
How do I copy a ChatGPT answer into Word with its formatting?
Copy the answer with the copy button under it, or select it and press Ctrl+C (⌘C on a Mac), paste it here and download the Word file. Headings, bold text, lists and tables keep their formatting, and each valid formula becomes an editable equation instead of loose symbols.
Do I need a browser extension to copy ChatGPT to Word?
No. There is nothing to install: copy the answer, paste it here and download the Word file. An extension needs permission to read the pages you visit, while this page only works on the text you paste into it.
