Markdown to HTML
Convert Markdown to HTML with GitHub-flavoured syntax. Both the preview and the exported file are sanitised with the same policy.
Runs in your browser — nothing is uploadedFree trial: 1 run of Markdown to HTML every day. After that, 2 credits per run.
Convert GitHub-flavoured Markdown into sanitised HTML
Write or paste Markdown and get HTML, with a live preview and a word count. Tables, task lists, strikethrough and fenced code blocks are all supported. The output is sanitised before it reaches either the preview or the download, so pasting Markdown from an untrusted source cannot inject a script into the page.
What Markdown to HTML gives you
GitHub-flavoured Markdown
Tables, task lists, strikethrough and fenced code blocks, not just the original minimal syntax.
Live preview and source
Switch between rendered output and the HTML itself, so you can check both before using either.
Sanitised identically both ways
The same cleaning is applied to the preview and the downloaded file, so what you saw is what you get.
Word count
A running count as you type, useful when writing to a length.
Runs in your browser
Rendering and sanitising happen locally; unpublished writing is not uploaded.

Limitations
- Sanitisation removes raw HTML that could execute; this is deliberate and not configurable.
Questions about Markdown to HTML
Is the output safe to publish?
Script tags, event handler attributes and javascript: URLs are stripped by DOMPurify, after Markdown rendering, for both the preview and the download.
Are tables and task lists supported?
Yes. GitHub-flavoured Markdown covers tables, task lists, strikethrough and fenced code blocks.
How do I convert a README to HTML?
Paste the Markdown and copy the HTML, or download it. GitHub-flavoured syntax is supported, so the tables, task lists, strikethrough and fenced code blocks a README usually contains all come through.
Why has my raw HTML been stripped out?
The output is sanitised before it reaches either the preview or the file, which removes embedded HTML along with scripts, styles and form elements. Build structure with Markdown syntax instead, and apply styling from a stylesheet on the destination site.
Is it safe to paste Markdown from an untrusted source?
Yes. Sanitising happens before anything is rendered, and identically for the preview and the download, so what you see on screen is exactly what the file contains. Nothing can inject a script into the page.
My table or list is not rendering. What is wrong?
Almost always a missing blank line. Markdown needs a blank line before and after tables and lists to recognise them as blocks — the great majority of rendering surprises come down to that.
Does this produce a complete web page?
No, it produces an HTML fragment meant for pasting into a CMS, a template or an email builder. There is no surrounding document, stylesheet or head section.
How do I turn Markdown into a Word document?
Convert it to HTML here, then run that through HTML to DOCX. That produces a genuine Word file with real headings, lists and tables rather than a renamed HTML file.
