How many cartons fit on a pallet?
The calculator searches layer patterns for the most upright cartons, then multiplies by the layers that fit under your height limit. Euro, US, ISO and other pallet sizes are built in, or enter your own.
Does it mix carton orientations?
Yes, where that fits more: blocks of cartons one way round with leftover strips filled the other way, or a pinwheel of four blocks turning round a centre one. The top view shows exactly which way each carton faces. Cartons are never tipped on their side.
How many boxes fit on a pallet?
It depends on the box and pallet sizes. The calculator searches layer patterns for the most upright cartons, keeping every box within the pallet edges, then multiplies by the number of layers that fit under your height limit.
What is the standard Euro pallet size?
A Euro or EPAL pallet is 1200 by 800 millimetres and 144 millimetres high. A US GMA pallet is 48 by 40 inches, about 1219 by 1016 millimetres. Both, and others, are selectable here.
How many layers can I stack?
Subtract the pallet’s own height from the maximum stack height, then divide by the carton height and round down. The calculator does this and shows the number of layers it used.
Does it turn cartons on their side?
No. Cartons are kept upright, which is how most goods must travel. It rotates them flat on the pallet to fit more, but it does not lay them on a side or end.
Why does a mixed pattern fit more?
When a carton does not divide evenly into the pallet, a block one way round leaves a strip that the carton can fill the other way. For example, 500 by 300 millimetre cartons fit four per Euro pallet layer either way alone, but six when mixed.
Can it tell me the ti and hi?
Yes. Ti is the number of cartons per layer and hi is the number of layers, which the calculator shows as per layer and layers. Multiply the two for the total cartons on the pallet.
